Pipers on the Trent June 2007

Pipe bands usually march in parades or play in a circle at a Highland Games, right? So we thought until last summer when we took part in Fiddlers on the Trent, an annual event held in Frankford, Ontario. The fun kicks off with a flotilla of canoes carrying fiddlers to the village from several miles up the Trent River. We were to bring up the rear riding in flat bottomed boats. We were too many for one boat, so we embarked in two but had trouble staying close enough to hear each other until the skipers tied the two craft together. All told, it was a great, fun day. Our thanks to Adrian A'Court and Chuck and Ena Petty for the pictures. Enjoy.
